Empower Women Asia is a project directly under the non-governmental organization KIBV (Keep It Beautiful Viet Nam), established in 2019 with the mission and goal of supporting ethnic minority women and girls in traditional Vietnamese weaving villages to stabilize their income through skill development, infrastructure support, and market access for their traditional hand-woven textile products.
Continuing the unfinished journey of "Se Gai Sẻ Gánh 2023," in 2024, Empower Women Asia continues its path to support the establishment of weaving cooperatives for the H'Mong ethnic minority people in San Seo Ty hamlet, Khau Vai commune, Ha Giang province. In addition, the project also supports bringing the image and value of hand-woven textiles and brocade to the world through the companionship of the fashion brand La Pham.
With these aspirations, on November 17th, Empower Women Asia organized a workshop called "Xanh Gai Sánh Gồng" with a series of diverse activities such as a seminar on sustainable fashion, a fashion show of designer La Pham's collection, an exhibition of young designer Thach Thuy Tien's collection, and hands-on experiences with the stages of creating a traditional handmade product, with the aim of bringing knowledge and practical experience about hand-woven textiles and brocade to the community.
